⭐ Introducing our Remus 5.5 Year Single Barrel Bourbon Store Pick! 🥳
⭐ We were sent three samples of all different Mashbills, and we agreed that this Barrel with a 51% Corn, 39% Rye, and 10% Malted Rye Mashbill was the most interesting of them all. This barely legal Bourbon is aged for 5.5 Years with a Barreled Date of 2/19/2018 and is bottled at Cask Strength of 113.2! Fans of High-Rye Bourbons will want to give this a try! 🔥
⭐ Tasting Notes -- On the Nose, I get Leather, Rye spice, and melted caramel. It's very inviting without much Ethanol aroma. There's plenty of Layers on the Palate such as leather, dark chocolate, figs, cherries, raisins, and butterscotch. The Malted Rye portion of the Mashbill comes through as well which resembles the Malted Rye bottling by New Riff which is also very tasty. The Mouthfeel is Round and creamy with a slight Buttery character. The Finish has a little bit of heat up and oak tannins, but ends with moderate Rye spice and a mellow leathery, caramel and toffee character. 🤤
