[⭐] This Single Barrel opened up beautifully after the first week. It started a little oaky and astringent, but mellowed out nicely and is now a delight to sip on. The Mashbill is 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% MB is a great compliment to the Toasted Cask Finish which imparts a lot of tasty Baking Spices. 🔥
[⭐] Tasting Notes -- On the Nose, I get a good amount of Brown Sugar, Vanilla, Cinnamon, and Sweet Leather. There's a little Ethanol on the Nose, but nothing that's really off putting. The Palate starts off with plenty of Baking Spices up front -- think cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. It then moves into layers of Maple, Cola and Red Berries, then ends with a good amount of Rye Spice and Malted Rye. The Mouthfeel has a slight roundness to it with a little astringency on the end. This is definitely a fun sipper that starts off sweet and finishes dry. 🤤
